Entrepreneurs are typically known for working around the clock every day. However, a smart entrepreneur knows that a balanced lifestyle will be more productive to a new business than running oneself ragged. By spending dinner with the family a few times a week and some weekends relaxing, entrepreneurs can disconnect and succeed. A Xero study study showed that successful small business owners think it is essential to step away from work and focus on personal time. In fact, 55% of the entrepreneurs surveyed agreed that the weekends should be spent with loved ones. So, remember to carve out time to exercise or eat with your family all while working on your new business.
The ability to inspire and motivate others is a valuable skill that successful entrepreneurs know they must have. Since almost anyone can start a business in this day and age, it’s important to focus on getting others to back your product or service and watch it grow with you. Motivating others can be challenging, but successful entrepreneurs have something inside of them that prove to have this skill. For instance, Brent Gleeson, the CMO of Internet Marketing Inc. says, “Motivating others is all about doing different things because everybody responds to different motivators.” Remember that motivating others involves energizing your team, providing incentives for success like allowing someone to speak at a trade show.
Asking For Help
Running your own business can be tough and not knowing what to do next can get stressful. For this reason, successful entrepreneurs recognize that they don’t know everything and that it’s okay. According to Dr. Paul Schempp, exceptional achievers are those who have a willingness to ask for help if needed. This correlates with knowing how to fail too. Successful entrepreneurs come to terms with their failures and learn from their mistakes. They circle back around and ask for help from someone who knows just a little bit more than them. Remember that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness but gives you the ability to grow your business stronger and better.
